Kri Kri ibex hunt in Greece - Hunting program Sapientza
On the initial day, we will come to Athens and transport you to your hotel, which is about 3.5 hours away. The boat ride to and from the island is included in the package price. The boat ride from Sapientza to and from the island takes between 30 minutes and up to one hour, depending on where the hunting takes place. Three hunting teams can hunt at the same time on Sapientza, and each team gets a hunting area based on a draw. If the weather is poor, the hunt is called off and rescheduled for the next day. Hunts can be organized on Sapienza between Monday and Thursday. If the Kri Kri hunt on the first day is successful, you will be able to hunt Mouflon and then we are going for a hybrid hunt. On the tenth day, we will drive you to the airport and depart from Athens.

On Atalanti, boat transfers take about 10 minutes. Because it is a smaller island, just two hunting parties may be there at the same time. Hunts are provided only on Fridays. Weather does not affect the island’s popularity, as it is adequately protected against winds and waves, making it feasible to arrive anytime. Currently, there is a move to extend the hunting season for another day. The hunt takes place from a blind in the vicinity /30 m/ to the place where the animals are fed with fodder every day. Success rate is 100% as to collect the trophy from the grocery.

Upon arrival in Athens/Thessaloniki, you will be transferred to your hotel, which is about three hours away. On day two, you will hunt Kri Kri or a hybrid. On day three, you will hunt again. On day three 3 pm, you will be transferred to the airport and depart from Athens/Thessaloniki. Please be informed that the hunt is in fenced area. 100% success rate is guaranteed as it is small fenced area and the hunt could be with dogs. Warning ! Any kind of hunting Kri-Kri ibex out of the regulated fenced hunting area is illegal according the government hunting progarmm!

Yura and Agios Georgios Islands Hunting Program Overview
- Package Inclusions: Round trip expenses from the airport, four days of full board, island transfers, three days of guided hunting, along with necessary weapons and ammunition.
- Trophy Opportunities: Hunt includes a complimentary purebred Yura Ibex and two hybrid ibexes. The hybrids are eligible for registration both as Kri Kri and Yura hybrids (capra aegagros hircus), while the purebred Yura ibexes (capra aegagros dorcas) qualify for the SCI record book after verification by a Master Measurer.
Detailed Hunting Schedule:
- Duration: Arrive a day before the 3-day hunting period (2 days on Yura, 1 day on Agios Georgios Skopelos).
- Trophies Included: Each hunter can claim 3 ibexes (one purebred capra aegagros dorcas and two hybrids capra aegagros hircus).
- Group Composition: Each group consists of 3 hunters and a guide, with 4 members in total.
- Capacity Limit: Only 3 groups allowed per week in November, hunting from Friday to Sunday.
- Available Hunting Weeks in November 2025:
- Week 1: Oct 31 – Nov 2
- Week 2: Nov 7 – 9
- Week 4: Nov 14 – 16
- Week 5: Nov 21 – 23
- Week 6: Nov 28 – 30
- Registration: Early bookers and complete groups get priority. Closing date is September 1, 2025. Email notifications will be sent regarding confirmed dates and details.
- Fees: Administrative fee of EUR 25 and a participation deposit of EUR 250 required. First to confirm (via fee payment) get to choose their dates.
- Selection for Overbooked Periods: A lottery determines placement if demand exceeds spots. Unranked hunters may prioritize for 2026 or request a deposit refund. Bank charges are the responsibility of participants.
- Payment Deadline: Full payment due 14 days before the hunt.
Hunting Limits:
- Maximum 3 ibexes per group over two days on Yura.
- One purebred and two hybrids maximum on Agios Georgios.
- Group 1: Yura – Day 1, Day 2; Agios Georgios – Day 3
- Group 2: Yura – Day 1, Day 3; Agios Georgios – Day 2
- Group 3: Yura – Day 2, Day 3; Agios Georgios – Day 1
How to Apply: To join, email us your full name, contact details (email and phone), and preferred hunting week (e.g., week 1, 2, etc.). The list of interested hunters will be presented to the Ministry of Forests and the Mayor of Skopelos to advocate for the hunt as a means to maintain ecological balance.
A hunting organization with Hunt in Greece including lodging and full board at a local 4-5 star hotel, an Athens airport transfer, trophy preparation assistance, insurance, hunting licence, island entry permits, Kri Kri Ibex hunting licence, and administrative taxes is included. In case of bad weather and/or no chances to shoot during the hunt the refund is according the current years government trophy fee for the requested trophy size. Or returned hunt for half of the price. There will be no refund if the hunter has 2 missed shots, or wounded animal, or 2 reasonable chances are passed over.
